Had a great experience at the new PhoHolic location. We tried the other location last time in Duluth and loved the food. This time we wanted to try to this new location as we were closer in proximity and we were pleased with the food and overall experience. Spring rolls appetizer were tasty, the peanut dipping sauce had a flavor similar to a curry sauce. For entrees we had the shaking beef rice plate which was very solid and a grilled pork banh mi sandwich which was also very solid! Looking forward to coming back when they are more settled in and have additional offerings.

Honest Review: Phoholic, Duluth We stop by for lunch at Phoholoic, the new location. This is their second week after opening. Location: a few blocks of the main road. Parking: good amount of parking space. Wheelchair accessible Atmosphere: clean, spacious and bright Service: server was polite and attentive. The chef forgot one of our order. Food: Shrimp toast - no pictures because it was that good. Came out hot, and freshly toasted. The shrimp had perfect seasoning. Flavor was on point. The toast was crunchy and hot. Best dish here! Definitely recommend it 10/10 maybe because its my first time trying it. Shrimp rolls - ok but could be better. Not much flavor. I couldn't even taste the Shrimp. It was like eating tapioca roll. 3/10 wouldn't order again. Mini banh xaeo crepes - this was our dish that was missed. We had to wait till they made it again. We finally got it before we left. No picture because it was disappointing. Came out not fully cooked, we had bahn xaeo crepes before. This was undercooked and still very doughie. No shrimp...just a small pinch of something pink (mush be shrimp paste?) 3/10 Pho - we ordered the special combination pho. Flavor was good. Light and not too dark. Noodles were el dente but the meat...it was hard and chewy. Even the tripe was still chewy. They didn't cut the tripe so you get a long string of tripe. The only part tender was the meatballs. Some tendons and beef were soft enough to chew. We picked what was chewable and left all the hard tough meat. I tried chewing and you could hear me chewing because it was tough. Really hoped they will cook their meat longer so its tender falling off the bones. 6/10 Maybe after next year they'll get their menu and recipes right. Until next time again. Overall I would give this a 7/10 since is a new location and its only their second week.

The atmosphere feels clean, bright, spacious and smells very aromatic of pho. I only ordered a Combination Pho with beef ribs. The pho had a strong spice (Cinnamon, Star Anise) smell and flavor to it which i didnt really mind. The pho was a nice warm-hot temp with a sweet taste. The beef ribs were huge. Bigger than I expected but not as tender as I expected. There was some work that had to be put in eating meat off the ribs. I would come back and try something else. Total was around $23-28 I believe.

We are regulars at PhoHolic up the hill and this was opening night of their 2nd location. This was most likely the reason for the longer wait time to be seated. The 2nd location of PhoHolic on London Road did not disappoint! While offering many of their classic staples, they also had new and expanded menu options that you can only order here. This incorporates uniqueness & novelty to each location. Based on your own personal tastes, you really can't go wrong with anything that you order. One consistency is that everything is packed with flavor! Something that is a refreshing change in Northern Minnesota. Note: currently- Pad Thai, Stone Pho, and Egg Noodle Soup W/Wontons noodle soup are exclusive to the Central Entrance location. This may change over time. This is one of the best places to dine in Duluth, hands down, regardless of location.

This place is so cute and the food is incredible. Idk what they put in their rice but I cannot stop eating it. The pho is flavorful and filling. 12/10

I’ve been coming to PhoHolic for years now and this new location is just as amazing as always, large portion sizes, delicious food and lovely service. Can’t go wrong on the menu, but my favorites are the rice platters or noddle bowls, the curry chicken, and the fried rice.

We've been twice now. Both meals were overall good, with the exception of this last meal where I ordered the wrong item for my tastes. According to the menu, it should have been fine, but the Seafood Udon Soup contains unlisted tofu and an entire cleaned soft shell crab. I've never liked tofu and have tried it many times. It's just not for me. My husband also tried the broth and one of the shrimp. He agreed with me that it was overly fishy, not a clean seafood taste, but probably the intended taste profile. We were happy to try it out and be adventurous this New Year's Day. Refund, discount, or replacement were not asked for as that was my mistake. The info might help others avoid or be more adventurous--who knows, you might like it. We also had the shrimp toast and the deep fried egg rolls. Both of those with their included sauces were delicious and will be part of future orders. Our previous visit, I ordered the beef rib pho....that was delicious. The college students that are working there do work their butts off, but the "clean" tables and menus both times have been dirty and sticky.

Restaurant: PhoHolic Taste of Vietnam London St. (Duluth, MN) This is a sister restaurant to the original PhoHolic in Duluth, MN. This restaurant is new and has been opened for about 2 months. The food is very similar to the original location. For the Pho enthusiasts, the pho is similar to the main location but the bowls are bigger here and slightly lighter on seasoning. Still a MN top 3-5 pho spot. A little advice to the amateur viet girl at the counter and restaurant owners. Work on your checkout procedure. You handed us the main receipt which got lost. I went up to the counter to pay and the viet girl told me that she didn't no how much to charge because the receipt got lost.. She looked at me with a serious face like how did the receipt get lost and how is she supposed to know what to charge. I decided to tell her what we ordered knowing that the type of receipt was given to us, there were a copy. Even after I gave the correct order she was still in disbelief and spoke in Vietnamese to find the copy in the back. After confirming and acknowledging I was right about the order she charged my party the appropriate amount + a service fee for a large party. Seriously, its not your customers fault for losing a receipt and getting upset at a valued customer who spends hundreds of dollars a year to eat at both your locations. Have a better checkout procedure which doesn't involve customer and more importantly despicable attitude. It's called customer service and not restaurant demands. Would I eat here again? Heck yeah! One of the best Bowl of pho in America and other good options. I love the Pho so much that I stopped by with my family twice in a weekend even after the shitty departure. Eggrolls: 6.5/10 Too small, not enough filling and due to the smaller size the shell is too thick therefore creating a perfect crispy "outer shell" with the inside shell being thick and soft.. Springrolls: 7/10 Pot Stickers: 8.5/10 Wontons: 8/10 Shrimp toast: 8.5/10 Vietnamese Ice Coffee: 10/10 Pho Score Price (5): 4 Bowl size (5): 4.5 Presentation (5): 4.5 Herbs (5): 4 Noodles (5): 4 Meat • Quality (5): 4 • Portion (5): 4.5 • Bonus meats (5): 4 Broth quality • Clearness (5): 4.5 • Spices (5): 4 • Depth (5): 4.5 • Balance (20): 18.5 • Richness (20): 18.5 • MSG aftertaste (-3): -1.75 • Secret special factor (5): 4.5 Total score (100 points max): 85.75 Blind score test for reference, the original location Pho Score is at 86.25.
